Playlist of the Week: 2nd Edition

Ladies and Gentlemen, I now present you with epic tunes that will make your playlist better than ever. I am addicted to ‘Spotify‘ and make it a daily mission to discover new music to add to my playlists on the app. All of these songs are on my personal playlists and the ones that make these lists are my absolute favorites that I can’t get enough of.

1. Zara Larsson – One Mississippi

Remember when you were playing Hide and Seek as a kid and would cover your eyes and count to 10 before going to look for your little bestie but were told by the grown-ups that you should say ‘Mississippi” between each number so that you you don’t count so fast? Yeah, well, this song only counts to 4 Mississippi’s but the concept makes the song SO catchy. Maybe she added Mississippi in so she doesn’t sing too fast? Haha, Okay probably not, but anyways, this. song. is. sick. 🙂

2. Maren Morris – 80’s Mercedes

I heard this song for the first time a couple of days ago as I was driving downtown with the windows down like a baller (Haha, Omg, Just Kidding), but the chorus sounded so fun and the fact that she mentions GLITTER on her seats really connected with me personally, because glitter is always on my seat. Not just the seats in my car, but the seat I sit on to eat and the bed I lay on to sleep. Hahaha. Just listen to it, have fun with it. 🙂

3. Lorde – Liability

Alright, this one is a bit of a downer but as those who know me, know that I am a sucker for a good tear-jerkin’ song. The lyrics of this one really hit me, and are the golden part of the song. “I am a little much for everyone” and “I am a toy that people enjoy…..then they are bored of me”. and of course, “I Understand, I’m a liability.” Very personal but beautiful lyrics that many of us can identify with. Alright, I didn’t mean to get all mopey on y’all but everyone needs a good heartfelt song that isn’t too over the top. This one is perfect.

4. Imagine Dragons – Whatever it Takes

MOTIVATIONAL MUSIC ROCKS. This song is perfect for running, working out, or lifting you up before a long day. This song definitely gives me an extra boost of energy and confidence that I need to conquer the day. It is also catchy, fun and upbeat! Must have song y’all!

5. Twenty One Pilots – Car Radio

There really is no way to describe this song other than the fact that listening to it makes you think and ponder about life, what the lyrics mean in the vocalist’s perspective, and how chill the overall sound is. I definitely recommend it as the ultimate chillaxing song. 🙂 This song is deep but absolutely beautiful.

6.  Zara Larsson – Lush Life

Okay, Enough with the downer songs. This is the absolute opposite! This song is definitely one of my favorite songs of all time. So FUN, playful and carefree. It is so fun to dance to, clap to, sing to, and it will absolutely get stuck in your head “all night, all summer” Love Love Love this track! Keep making music Zara, for all our sake! 🙂

7. Halsey – New Americana

Were you raised on Biggie and Nirvana? If so you will love this song, but if you weren’t you will still love this song, Haha!

8. La Bouche – Be My Lover

Okay, so this is a throw-back to the good ole’ 90’s. Fun, dancy, and sassy. I like it and I like it alot. You will too. LA DA DA DA DEE DA DA DA! Ah-Ha, Ey-Ey-Eee–Wanna be my LOVERRRR! Yeah, I get a little too into it. Ahem.

9. Flo Rida – Cake

Now, I love me some cake, but dancing to this song, as you are pretending to eat cake is so much more fun. Thanks Caleb from Fitness Marshall.

10. Allie X – Simon Says

Fun song that gets super playful with lyrics that are inspired from the classic game “Simon Says” It has a bit of a creepy style to it but I think is sounds really cool. If you like Melanie Martinez, you will love this song!
